Transforming decoration waste into SRF fuel: a breakthrough in new resource utilization technology

Time:2025-09-11

Recycling background

The global annual production of decoration waste exceeds 1 billion tons, containing more than 20 types of mixtures such as wood, plastic, and metal, with a composition complexity three times that of traditional construction waste. Traditional landfilling causes an annual loss of 2000 square kilometers of land worldwide and triggers environmental crises such as soil heavy metal pollution and groundwater leakage. The four-dimensional system of “crushing AI sorting regeneration energy” developed by our company has increased the resource utilization rate to 95% and can prepare 25MJ/kg high calorific value SRF fuel.

Applicable fields

The processing capacity of the new decoration waste treatment production line can be flexibly configured, and it is suitable for various scenarios. The urban level garbage treatment center processes 200-300 tons per day and can cope with the concentrated generation of decoration waste in the area; The building materials market or home decoration park can process 50-100 tons per day and can handle merchant decoration waste; The renovation project of old residential areas can temporarily set up small-scale production lines with a daily processing capacity of 30-50 tons, achieving nearby processing and on-site utilization.

Recycling process

The first step in the treatment of decoration waste is to use an intelligent gripper to accurately capture complex and mixed soft and hard decoration waste, and transport it to a double shaft coarse shredder. This shredder has high-strength wear-resistant crushing teeth and a double shfat reverse linkage design, which can evenly crush large pieces of wood, plastic boards, bricks, cement blocks, etc. into 10-30cm blocks, avoiding blockage of subsequent equipment, breaking the “physical adhesion” of materials, and paving the way for the separation process.

The crushed mixed material immediately enters the air separation equipment and is accurately separated according to the difference in material density: heavy substances such as bricks, cement blocks, etc. fall and are sieved and cleaned to produce recycled aggregates, which are used for road base paving and production of unburned bricks; Light combustible materials such as wood and plastic are carried into the subsequent channels by the airflow, becoming the core raw materials for preparing SRF fuel. Its core advantage is the separation purity exceeding 95%, avoiding the mixing of heavy substances that affect fuel quality, and achieving hierarchical utilization of resources.

The separated light combustible materials often contain metal impurities such as iron nails, which can damage equipment and affect the purity of SRF fuel. Therefore, the light materials are first sent to the strong magnetic separation equipment. This device efficiently adsorbs iron containing metals using a high gradient magnetic field (with a recovery rate of over 98%), while non-ferrous metals can be recovered through subsequent eddy current sorting. The collected metal is packaged and compressed before being sent to the smelting plant for regeneration. Assuming that each ton of decoration waste contains 3-5kg of metal, the daily processing of 100 tons of production line can recover 10-18 tons of metal annually, resulting in considerable profits.

After removing metal impurities, the pure light combustible material enters the fine crusher, which is designed with a “hammer crushing+screening integration” to crush the material into 3-5mm particles. After dust removal through a vibrating screen, SRF fuel is obtained. This fuel has outstanding advantages: stable calorific value, reaching 3000-5000 kcal/kg, close to medium thermal coal; Combustion is environmentally friendly, with low sulfur and chlorine content, lower emissions than traditional coal combustion, and meets national standards; Widely applicable, it can be used in cement kilns, power plants, industrial boilers, etc. to replace fossil fuels and reduce costs.

Value of production line

The new decoration waste treatment technology brings three core values of environmental protection, resources, and economy. In terms of environmental protection, traditional landfill and open-air stacking of decoration waste cause serious pollution. The new process of fully enclosed treatment converts over 90% of the waste into recycled aggregates or SRF fuel, solving the pollution from the source; In terms of resources, its processed products can replace natural sand and gravel, reduce dependence on minerals, and help achieve the “dual carbon” goal. Taking the daily processing of 100 tons of production line as an example, the annual resource recovery benefits are significant; Economically speaking, in the past, the treatment relied on government subsidies, and new processes were developed through “resource recycling+product sales”. Recycled aggregates, metals, and SRF fuels all have sales channels, and fully equipped production lines can recover the initial investment in 1-2 years, with stable long-term returns.
